Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of an olive farm where nature meets abundance. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and step into a serene landscape surrounded by centuries-old olive trees at Valmore.
Nestled along the southwestern coast of Sicily, at the heart of the Belice Valley near Castelvetrano, our story begins. These lands have been graced by the presence of olive groves since time immemorial, even preceding the establishment of Selinunte in the 17th century B.C. It's a landscape that has borne witness to the archaeological grandeur of civilizations that mastered the art of harmonizing with nature in the Belìce River Valley and its surroundings.
This is more than just a tour—it's a sensory journey that will allow you to taste, touch, and connect with the heart of Mediterranean life.
We will start with a leisurely walk through the olive groves, where we will share stories about the history and cultivation of olives, the ancient trees, and sustainable farming practices. As we stroll, you’ll hear the gentle rustling of the leaves and feel the warmth of the sun filtering through the canopy.
After our walk, you'll be treated to a curated picnic under the shade of the olive trees. Created by plant chef Rebecca of Wilder Kitchen in collaboration with sicilian Textile designer Mariapia of Sicels Studio, guested by Nicolò Asta in the wilderness of his Valmore farm.
The picnic will feature locally produced delights, inspired by the seasonal offerings and the fresh produce from Valmore farm served on hand painted repurposed textiles with a table setting featuring homeware and ceramics designed in collaboration with Wilders Kitchen.
We’ll share a tasting of our fresh extracted farm’s extra virgin olive oil, a pure expression of the land you are sitting on.
Wilder Kitchen is known for curated experiences where you are invited to reconnect with nature through food and this experience is no different. As you relax and enjoy the flavors of the region, you’ll have time to soak in the peace and beauty of your surroundings—take deep breaths of the fresh country air, and let the tranquility of this magical place refresh you. All food is focussed on plants and is vegan and can be tailored to allergies.
